Our Uniform Revealed

Uniform

We had another exciting moment in the growing story of St Catherine’s this week when our uniform was revealed on the front page of the Armstrong Creek Times.  I want to thank our models and foundation students Isaiah, Boh, Estelle, Everley, Lincoln and Isla who did a fantastic job. As I said to the newspaper, we are thrilled with our uniform collection. A group of dedicated families have been meeting regularly for several months creating our school uniform design. Our colours, teal and navy blue, are inspired by the environment of Armstrong Creek. The uniform has also been designed to support our focus on active learning.

Teacher Applications

I have received over 100 applications for the classroom teaching positions for what will be our foundation staff in 2020. I am currently working through the process of shortlisting candidates to interview. A task that is proving rather challenging given that each applicant has an assortment of skills and qualities that they could bring to St Catherine of Siena.

I am also mindful that the enormous array of applicants provides our school with an exciting opportunity to recruit inspiring teachers who are passionate about engaging and empowering children to learn beyond their potential and excel. I am thrilled about the staff team that we will create for our school community in 2020.

I am looking forward to making our first staffing announcement next week.

Specialist Teachers

Having received so many great applications for our classroom teacher positions I have now begun the search for specialist teachers. We have advertised three positions:

  • Physical Education Teacher
  • Visual Arts Teacher
  • Performing Arts Teacher

If you know of any great teachers who would be interested, encourage them to visit the employment page on our website: https://stcatherine.catholic.edu.au/employment/

We are still taking enrolments and our Prep classes are almost full with a wait-list likely, but there is still space for students in other classes up to grade five. I would encourage any families yet to make their decision to do so soon. I am still taking interviews so please book via our website if you have any remaining questions or feel free to email me via enquiries@stcatherine.catholic.edu.au or call 0475 753 590.

With all of this going on the building progress continues apace as you can see form the photos below:

Best wishes,

Donna Bryce

Principal
