Welcoming Grade Fives

I reached a major milestone last week when I officially started my role as Principal of St Catherine’s! Of course, I have already been busily working for many months, meeting families and taking enrolments, as well as with the builders and architects and the parish community. But until now I have been juggling this with my leadership duties at my old school in Ballarat. So it was very exciting to start full time at St Catherine’s from the start of term three.

I encourage families to come and visit me at my new temporary office at the Warralily sales office on the corner of Warralily Boulevard and Barwon Heads Road in Armstrong Creek. The sales team have been very generous in supplying this resource. All families are very welcome to pop in for a chat, but just phone a few minutes before arriving as I am upstairs and may not always hear people at the door.

The other big news this week is, with really strong demand for enrolments, we have decided to extend the classes we are offering in 2020 and will now be offering a grade five class. The next big job for me is to recruit the very best teachers who will share with me a vision and passion for educating the students in our care. I am pleased to say I have already been inundated with applications, even before formally advertising. I look forward to updating you more on teacher recruitment shortly.

With the building progress still on schedule, I am looking forward to this next phase of St Catherine’s and meeting more member of our community.
