Students at St Catherine of Siena have a wide variety of extra-curricula opportunities to become involved with.  Our extra-curricula activities provide opportunities for students to shine and find their joy across many aspects of schooling and life.

Camps

Our Years 3-6 students participate in camp each year.  Our camps have been chosen to provide our students with rich, outdoor learning experiences and an opportunity to tackle challenges. Camp provides a valuable experience to develop self-care, resilience and independence skills, whilst having fun with classmates and teachers.

Our Year 3/4 camps are located close to Armstrong Creek (Anglesea/Queenscliff), with our Year 5/6s having an opportunity to venture further to country Victoria.

Our Junior students experience engaging, outdoor learning opportunities each week during their Outdoor Learning sessions.

Choir

Every student at St Catherine’s is welcome to join the choir. All that we require is a love and enthusiasm for singing. Students learn to sing together as well as learning performance techniques. We meet at a lunchtime each week. We sing for the fun of it and also rehearse for various performances throughout the year, such as school Masses and events.

Art and Craft Clubs

Students in Years 3-6 have an opportunity to extend their visual art skills each week during lunchtime Art Club, led by our Visual Arts teacher.  Students in Years Prep-2 can join in on craft club, which is held in the library at lunchtime weekly.

School Performance & Visual Arts Show

Each year we celebrate The Arts at St Catherine of Siena, with either our School Performance or Visual Arts Show.  All students have an opportunity to perform or showcase their artistic talents, under the guidance of our Arts specialist teachers.

Sporting & Physical Education Opportunities

All students in our school are able to participate in an extensive Bike Education program each year.  We also provide a Swimming program for all students.

Our Athletics and Cross Country Carnivals provide an opportunity for all students to participate in friendly, house competition.  Our Year 3-6 students are then able to compete at a district level and beyond.  We have had several students compete at State level across different sporting disciplines.

Our school is an active member of our local school sporting district and our Year 5/6 students can participate in a variety of team sports during the Summer and Winter Lightening Premiership competitions, as well as other sports as the opportunity arises.
